What is Brain Tumor?

Brain tumor cancer is basically an abnormal growth of certain cells in the brain. The tumors which doesn’t spread and contain in just nearby tissues are called benign tumors and they are less harmful. whereas Malignant tumor can grow rapidly and can affect or spread to other distant parts of the body as well, which is harmful compared to benign tumors.
The tumors can start either from the brain or from other parts. The brain tumor that starts from the brain cells are called primary brain tumors, and the tumors that started spreading from other parts and get affected to the brain is called metastatic or secondary brain cancers.
The major type of symptoms of brain tumors are:
  1. Problems related to speech
  2. Difficulty in walking and loss of balance while walking
  3. Problems in vision
  4. Headache and seizures
The important thing to note here is that having these symptoms doesn’t mean one has the cancer. But, if one person shows one or more of these symptoms for more than 2 weeks, then its imperative to meet a doctor who is specialist in these and do some health checkups and testing and subsequently do a The symptoms of these tumors are actually mostly related to its location than to its size. The tumor interferes with the fluid flow of the brain and spinal cord and the tissues around the tumors start to swell, The symptoms of these tumor development will start once cancer start to slowly destroy or compress the normal brain tissues.
Through physical examination or MRI and CT scan diagnosis can be done. the treatment of brain tumor is but quite complex. But, with the help of  these can be done conveniently. The most widely accepted treatment for the brain cancer is in fact surgery and removal of tumors, radiation therapy or doing chemo. Tumor can also be removed by making small holes in the skull through minimal invasive surgical procedure which is also known as Neuro-endoscopy.
